2019 Annual STA QLD Ground Managers Dinner

 

Date: Friday 3 May 2019

Time: 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM

Venue: Platinum Room, QLD Cricketers’ Club, “The Gabba” (access via QCC Walkway located on Vulture Street – opposite the German Club)

Dress: Jacket and Tie / Cocktail

Ticket options include:

Guests will receive a 2 course sit down meal, 4 hour drinks package (beer, wine and bubbles and non-alcoholic selection) and entertainment. Table purchases (of 10 tickets) will also receive naming rights for their table.

As part of the STA QLD’s inaugural dinner, STA QLD will also be presenting a series of awards which will form what will be STA QLD’s Annual Ground Managers Dinner. The awards night aims to celebrate the year that was and highlight the tremendous effort Queensland Grounds Managers endure. The award categories include:

  • Community sports field (best field)
  • Public school (best field)
  • Private school (best field)
  • QLD Cricket Awards (STA QLD Groundsman Of The Year, STA QLD Most Improved Grounds man and Best Premier Grade Field)
  • Life Member
  • Apprentice of the Year
  • Construction award
  • Innovation of the Year

Nomination of the Awards:

Nominations can be submitted via either our STA QLD Facebook page or email to admin@staqld.com.au and must meet the following criteria for the awards below. Nominations closed 31 March 2019.

For all turf categories, judging criteria will be posted on this page in December 2018.  Please keep an eye on this page for what criteria your turf must meet in order to be considered for an award.

  • Nomination for the Community Sports Field, Public and Private School awards can be nominated by the club/school, individual or representative who is a member or partner of STA QLD. Three (3) photos are to be provided along with a description containing 50 to 100 words is also to be suppled detailing the reason for the nomination.
  • QLD Cricket awards are chosen by QLD Cricket.
  • Life Member Award as chosen by the STA QLD Committee.
  • Construction Award can be nominated by a club/school, individual or representative who is a member or partner of STA QLD. Three (3) photos are to be provided along with a description containing 50 to 100 words is also to be suppled detailing the reason for the nomination.
  • Apprentice of the Year Award is put forward by QLD educators. A short list is then interviewed and a representative is chosen by a panel.
  • Innovation of the Year Award can be nominated by a club/school, individual or representative who is a member or partner of STA QLD. Three (3) photos are to be provided along with a description containing 50 to 100 words is also to be suppled detailing the reason for the nomination.
