New STA Qld Vice President Named

October 16, 2018 News

On Monday STA Queensland welcomed back Jarrod Bird, Head Grounds Manager of the Queensland Cricket Association.  Birdy has been named as Vice President and member of the management committee.

Birdy had been a member of the management committee for three years from 2011-2014. He has a passion for the STA and the work it does for the Sport’s Turf Management industry as a whole.

I am very excited to join the STA once again. There are a few things I would like to help improve, mainly our communication with members. The use of social media is a key part of this.  I apologize if we clog up your Facebook feeds.  Martyn Hedley left big shoes to fill but I will endeavor to do my best to assist Mal and our other dedicated committee members.

Cricket Australia and all of the major venue curators are working on some exciting initiatives around curator training and pathways. All of us see the STA as an integral part of delivering this to our industry.

Please join with us in welcoming Birdy back to the STA Queensland and keep an eye on your social media accounts for STA Qld.
