A number of new partnerships with the Turf Growers Association of Queensland and the South East Queensland Irrigation Association were announced with discounted training days and admittance to their field days now being offered as members with STA Queensland.  We look forward to working closely with these Associations.

A Cricket Curator Pathway and Training project has also been announced between State STA Associations and Cricket Australia.  The aim is to develop accredited training packages specific to cricket curating.  Due to time constraints and the numbers of cricket curators with in classes, most training for Cert III Sports Turf Management is based on sand profiles.

Packages have been developed by STA NSW and all of the states hope to work with Cricket Australia, First Class Cricket curators and State Cricket Association to develop training for people ranging from volunteers through to Stadium Managers.  It is hoped that this training will create a recognised pathway for curators to progress their career and with the introduction of skill sets, increase the number of turf workers enrolling in formal qualifications.
