2018 STA QLD Educational Day

Where: View Point Room, University of QLD, St Lucia Campus. Convenient parking is located under the newly constructed synthetic sports fields. Park and Pay under the location of Fields 4 and 5 on this map.

Presenters: 

  • Dr Chris Lambrides from The University of QLD

In the early part of his career he was involved in crop breeding/genetics and physiology in both the private (Pioneer seeds) and public (CSIRO) sectors with a major focus of developing drought resistant cultivars for northern Australia. In 2006 he commenced studying Turfgrass genetics and physiology again with a focus on drought resistance.

  • Damon Joseph from Character Builders

Damon founded Character Builders in 2007 and works across a number of different settings including schools, universities and corporate organisations. He has extensive experience in student learning, team building, staff development and leadership training. Damon has a passion for education and team building done differently. He engages his audience so that they feel immersed and in ownership of the content. Damon is a HPE and Accounting teacher by trade and now enjoys bringing a variety of different offerings back to schools and bigger kids in the workplace too. He has previously worked as a Lecturer and Tutor at QUT Kelvin Grove.

  • Workplace Health & Safety QLD
  • Plus more specialised talks on how to get the most of your spray technology, workplace health and safety and Michelle Janes from Biosecurity Queensland will be on hand to answer any questions you have about Fire Ants!
